Hysteresis is an ancient greek word that means “deficient” or “lagging”. When an action happens and there’s a delay that’s longer than usual for the reaction, that’s called Hysteresis.
Spring Hysteresis
With coiling springs, if something was to ever apply pressure or compression to the spring and their was no reaction, that would create a hysteresis with the spring technology. With cheaper springs that happens often, because the spring is deformed and not working correctly.
